About Us

SGPC is a root level organization to promote productivity culture in South Gujarat, established in 1992, with support of the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce Industry, Surat.
It is an autonomous, tri-partite, non-profit organization affiliated to National Productivity Council Under Ministry of Commerce Industry, Govt. of India.
It has equal representation from the Govt., employers and worker organizations, apart from this it has technical and professional institutions on its governing body.
SGPC offers various industrial training designed to upgrade and update the knowledge and skills of people in different business sectors.

OBJECTIVES:

• To increase productivity in all spheres of industries.
• To stimulate and promote productivity consciousness by disseminating information regarding productivity techniques and processes through various media including publications, exhibitions and other audio-visual aids.
• To encourage and assist implementation of programme and relating to the objective of increase of productivity, including items such as technical exchange by organising productivity teams and inter-plant visits and by engaging consultants and expects by organising productivity training of various levels of management, operatives, technicians and trade union representatives; and by research.
• To seek to promote the establishment of cordial relationship between employees and employers.
• To levy and recover affiliation and other fees and charges for service rendered; and to borrow funds or accept any grants, gifts, donations and subscriptions.
• To establish, subscribe to become a member of support co-operate or amalgamate with any other association, society, institution or company whether incorporated or not, whose objects are altogether or in part similar to those of the Council.
• To enroll various categories of members from among government, companies, associations, institutions and organisations.
• To do all such other lawful things as are conducive or incidental to the attainment of the above subjects.
